#16 ERIN CLARK

The team may have to wait a little bit, but the New England Mutiny will see the return of the Erin Clark from injury for her fourth season, side-by-side with her collegiate & club teammates Meghan Cunningham and Becky Gundling. Last fall for UConn, she started in 13 of her 18 appearances, scoring two goals and four assists.

Erin started all 14 games in 2008 for the Mutiny, scoring 6 goals and an assist in the regular season. “Clarkie” would go on to score the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory in the 2008 Eastern Conference Championship vs. the undefeated SoccerPlus CT Reds, which catapulted the Mutiny into the WPSL Final Four held in Sacramento, CA.

Erin assisted on the Mutiny’s only goal in the National Semifinal against the Arizona Rush, giving the Mutiny a 1-0 lead at half-time. However, the Mutiny could not hold on in the fierce summer heat in California. How hot? Clark had to be subbed out in the first half due to a melted cleat from the scorching artificial turf of Natomas H.S.

In Fall 2008, Clark played in 21 matches, scoring twice and as a freshman at UConn in 2007, she played in 18 contests scoring five goals with four assists - finishing fourth on the team in scoring. Erin was also named to the All-New England First Team by the New England Women’s Intercollegiate Soccer Association (NEWISA).

Erin was a two year member of the Region I ODP team and helped guide her club team to consecutive State Cup Championships and appearances in the Region I Club Championships from 2004-2006. Clark also excelled in track & field & as a standout performer was a two-time All-State & All-Conference selection as well as the NCCC 4×100 champion.
