INFERNO 3 MUTINY 0
Whatever their troubles, even during the one year they didn’t make the Women’s Premier Soccer League playoffs, two things were constant - the New England Mutiny did not lose three straight games and they did not lose at home.
Friday night, with 708 watching, for the first time in franchise history, the Mutiny lost their third straight game 3-0, and they lost it at Agawam High School.
Katie Lamm, Megan Monroig and Ariel Gordon scored a goal each as the Lancaster Inferno sent the Mutiny to their third loss in four starts, and put them in a position of probably having to run the rest of the regular season table to qualify for postseason play.
Newcomer Sydney Stoll, a junior at University of Massachusetts, came closest to scoring for the Mutiny, hitting a shot in the 35th minute that hit both the crossbar and right post, but did not go in.
Mutiny goaltender Lauren Brodeur of Wilbraham made seven saves as Lancaster dominated play throughout, according to owner Joe Ferrara.
