MUTINY TAME LYNX 4-0

It was hard to tell what angered the Mutiny more on Saturday. Its first regular season loss ever at the friendly confines of Agawam High School the night before to the SoccerPlus CT Reds or a one hour lightning delay before tonight’s match. Whichever- it resulted in the Adirondack Lynx being the recipient of the Mutiny’s wrath as New England scored four goals in the first 25 minutes en route to a 4-0 victory over the Lynx in a WPSL match played in Fort Ann, NY.

The Mutiny came out strong early and in the 9th minute Jenny Maurer would take a feed from Mary-Frances Monroe and blast a shot off the crossbar. Deb Nelson pounced on the rebound to open the scoring.

Two minutes later the Mutiny struck again when Nelson heal-flicked the ball to midfielder Lauren Molinaro who slotted it over to Monroe. Monroe would blast it past goalkeeper Marissa Abbott. One minute after that goal, Maurer would collect the ball from 25 yards and shoot it on goal. This time it found the back of the net for Maurer’s first goal of the season.

In the 14th minute Nelson would ring another shot off the crossbar and a minute later Molinaro would skim the top of the bar with another. The Mutiny capped the scoring in the 25th minute when Molinaro would cross the ball into area to Erin Gatto. Gatto brought it down with her chest and fired it in for the final margin of 4-0.
